Scribe : Happiness is only the Bribe :)

BackgROUND!  -  IRIS is ROUND with which you can see the world AROUND!

It was a Friday late afternoon, Sun was diving at his best, towards the west! I Was held up with some stuff at office to complete and had plans of traveling to Mangalore on Saturday night as it was long holiday weekend in the last week of  January.

One of my colleague comes to me and asks, "Macha what’s your plan for tomorrow?"

I just saw his face, smiled and told - nothing much except washing cloths! Which is nothing but a battle for bachelors? :)

Colleague continued, "one of my frnd was supposed to be scribe for a student for tomorrow's exam, due to some personal work he may not be able to take it up, would u like to give it a try if u have time for it??"

I just clicked right bottom corner of my desktop and opened the clock. A long 'second' hand of a clock was supposed to hit 12, I thought it’s the best plan to make out on weekend! coz most of the time we see happiness in someone’s colorful eyes, but searching happiness in the dark eyes of someone will really give u happiness which u won’t get anywhere.

I just looked at him and said, give me student’s contact details, I will talk to him right now and get the venue details.

Called up the student and confirmed him that, I will be a scribe for his exam next day.  Student said, "ok brother, I will be waiting for you in exam hall.."

Scene1: "Wake up and Break up!!"

Got up early, yeah it was 8Am ;) Took bath, got ready and told my roommate Mr.SAP to join for a Tea. Then started to Malleshwaram govt college, which was the exam center.

I was neither aware of student nor his grade/class,  I was just informed that exam will be a

Kannada subject which I like most! In fact I love it!

It was already a late start, I was lost in the Bangalore traffic near MG road. When I was waiting for the signal to Green, looked at someone’s watch who was also waiting beside me, it was already a 10min to 9:15am. I learnt that exam is at 9:15am.. 

I realized that I would be entering exam hall bit late than anyone else but with a hope n faith I was trying my best n hitting hard on the road. While driving I could feel my mobile vibration and assumed that it would be none other than a student who will be calling up to confirm and I ignored to lift as  I was driving and reached the college at approximately 10mins late…  J Yes it was 9:25am.

Parked the vehicle, locked the helmet and looked into the mirror and I did make myself comfortable with my spikes and checked the mobile.. There were exactly 4 missed calls I had and 2 were from student and 2 were unknown numbers. As I got to c unknown numbers, I thought might be important so called up to that number. It was a pleasant ring tone and someone from other side spoke,

Unknown: Hello

Myself: Hi sir , This is Mahesh.. May I know ur name plz, as I can see 2 missed calls from ur no,.

Unknown: Wru sir? With a very sweet voice! [don’t over imagine ;) it was an old man’s voice :D ]

Myself: Just spiking my hair. Btw how may I help you sir?

Unknown: Dear Mahesh,  I Am an exam invigilator. Are you going to write exam today? Or,..?

Without letting him continue, I just started running out and said, "sir not more than 120secs, I will be in hall now…"

As I didn’t pick call from student, room invigilator did take my number from him and called me up :D  omg!! I am too much this time.

By asking students there somehow I ran towards the library where the exam was going on,

removed my shoes and entered the room.

Scene2:  "Late, Entered Gate , and Now Its Student's Fate ;) "

With a big smile on his face, exam invigilator welcomed me and pointed me the student. Without making much disturbance I went to him and collected papers kept infornt of him on the table and looked at him.

Myself: Guru, I apologize for coming down late.

Student: Smiled at me and said, no problem Anna.

I just smiled and looked around. A very serious faces looking to the question papers and writing something on the answer sheet.

There were around 12 students and 12 scribes accompanying them in the room along with the exam invigilator, old fan which was making sound, windows with colored glasses open and big Books in the racks. 

Among 12, one scribe was 40 years old lady (Inspiring) and 2 were too young ladies (Motivation) and 3 high school students (Proud)  with wearing tie in the neck and 5 young guys (Competitors) must be techies ;)  and finally myself with hair made spike and color made black :D (Cool).

I just asked student, Whats your name?

Student: By turning the face around, told SATISH.

By seeing his energy, enthusiasm, and activeness I just [F2’ed] him [I mean Renamed ;)]

As “Rajahuli”

Myself: Hey common man, u are a rajahuli,, Are u upset with my late entry?

Student: haahaha.. Rajahuli? Me? Nice name.. I am not upset actually.. More than me exam invigilator was tensed :D about you..

Myself: hahaha.. It happens.. btw, which class u r into? Degree?

Student: No anna, I am a second year student.

Me:  Oh, cool. Ok then, let me start writing your exam. First I will go through the question paper,  I will read out it for u and then I will start writing exam. Is that ok?

Rajahuli: Sure anna. Sounds good..

Then I read out all the qsns for him where as other scribes where already finished their 15-20 marks exams. I enjoyed reading those qsns it was remembering me my college days!

I asked Rajahuli, "did u prepare well for exam?"

"Yeah, I prepared very well", he said and I started writing 1marks each qsn-answers..

Here goes first qsn:

1. "What was grand-daughter doing?" I read as it is !

Rajahuli: I remember answer for this, “Granddaughter was talking over phone” he said.

I literally started laughing.. I was not knowing the answer at all, but by seeing current
Generation where am living now, same answer was running in my mind and can expect too ;)

"Are u sure?" I just asked him.
"Yes bro. I am damn sure about the answer", he added to it and I wrote as it is and gone to next Qsn..

2. Who is the first scientist on this earth?

Oops! Its tough to remember for me.. I was just checking for some scientist names, who did invention initially bla bla bla.. myself Turned to rajahuli and asked, "do u have any answer for this?"

"Yes, I hv ans for this!" Rajahuli whispered into my ears..

I was expecting some names! But ans stunned me for a moment!

"It’s a Kid", said rajahuli…

I just said wow.. What an amazing answer. Indeed a great thought by the author. 

The qsn was from chapter called, "Abdul kalam".  Author writes that, Kid is the first scientist on this earth. When rajahuli said me this, I became spiritual than nothing else.

Coz, when we start growing, instead of searching happiness within, instead of being satisfied, we start searching it in something else and forget our own identity. Being a Kid will always be a happiest moment of lifetime, no worries, no tension, no expectation, Just a smile in a loop of  “While”!

With a great humour, I started for next qsn?

3. "What an astrologer said about krishnegowda’s elephant?" I read it for him..

This qsn is from chapter called ‘krishnegowdana Aaane (Elephant)’. There were around 7-8 qsns from the same chapter. Even rajahuli was damn confident on the answers for the qsns from the same chapter... However, u ll come to know what was my problem as u go on reading..

Rajahuli continued, "Yes, i know ans for this. Astrologer said that - You will be heavy luckier if u buy this elephant".

And i wrote it as it is..

Like this, i could able to finish an Essay, Grammer,  qsn-ans etc for 75 marks out of 100. It was another half an hour to finish the exam. 

I asked Rajahuli, "I Am done guru, What do u feel? shall we leave now?"

"Anna, Whats this ! Another 25 marks ? can you manage somehow for another 25 marks plz?"
Rajahuli expressed his deep concern to me..

I was astonished.. "Dude ??? I do not have answer for remaining. If you could have told me yesterday, i would have read somehow collecting books from someone else, If not i would have tried google for ur subject"..

Rajahuli: "Bro, in that case Why dont you access google here? wifi is enabled in this college!!"

hahaha.. How fast students are now.. I said myself and looked at him.

"Dude, I need wifi password for it right? how do i know that?" I said.

A student from another chair, came to me by listening our conversations and told, 
"Is it ok, if i get u password?"

I got shocked again!, "Hey come on man, I helped you to come first calss and u r expecting Rank? Lets revise whatever i hv written i ll read it out for u. You can confirm me one more time" I said and turned to page first again..

Scene3:  "Sur-prise with Fun-Rise"

As I started revising out my answers, I was interested to know the answers from other scribes and became more curious to know whether what I have written are correct or not.


I told Rajahuli "Let me check our answers with others too! what du u say?"
" I am ok with that, but I am confident about my answers!" said rajahuli.

After all my job was just to finish the exam and leave the hall. But 'paramatma' residing inside me wont let it happen unless he gets satisfied with what actually has to happen!

I just read my first qsn :  "What was grand-daughter doing?"
Student sitting next to me said, "She was cooking!".. 
Me : ??? Ah!

How can she cook? Rajahuli told me "She s on phone!" .... "Shock-1"

Student2: I know d answer, "She was helping her grandma!"

"Shock-2"

Student3: Hey No, correct answer is - "She was playing games in Mobile" ..

"Shock-3"

I literally started laughing.. I murmured myself that , "These guys should have either had group study or should hv been sit in different room" 

I moved to next answer, had confidence on that answer and didn't discuss much..

Read 3rd Qsn : "What an astrologer said about krishnegowda’s elephant?"..

Student1: "It's very harmful to krishnegowda".

"Shock-1"
 
Student2: "Its very helpful to the society".

"Shock-2"


But Rajahuli told me different! Awe!!

These answers from students were stunning to me.. I was thinking what to do , either to correct my actual answers or let it to beas it is , i had to have trust on Rajahuli..!!
 
 I convinced myself that, "whatever i have written is best of my knowledge and subject to Market Risk. Read answers carefully before giving marks" .. :D :D :D
 
It went on same for all the answers, that different different opinion for all answers. I confirmed myself about his marks as it's kannada exam. Grammar, essay, other answers made me guess that Rajahuli will be getting good marks and i was even happy for kananda exam..

After all got over, i just asked Rajahuli, What exam is this? i Mean Final exam?

Rajahuli, turning to me, with shinning eyes, beautiful smile, with a high confidence in voice 

"Its preparatory  exam, Dont worry! If i dont get good marks this time, i ll get new scribe next time for my finals!" .. :D :D :D lolz..

I was completely uncontrollable this time.. hahaha.. what a reply from him! :D :D

Gave papers to invigilator and came out with Rajahuli. Told him to join for Tea, though he didn't come and told he ll offer tea for me.. I just smiled and said No Thanks and told him to pose for Selfie!

Finally , here it ended like this!

At the end of my story , I strongly convey one thing....

Eyes are beautiful/Essential part of human body. If we don't use it for needy one, indeed they are actually the one whom i say visually impaired!!

"Leave your Eyes, for the one who Lives without Eyes, when u r no longer going to Live!"
